The Department of Clinical Studies, Ontario Veterinary College (OVC), is seeking Locums in Diagnostic Imaging for the period of January – December, 2019. Applicants must have a DVM or equivalent degree, must be licensed or eligible for licensure to practice in the Province of Ontario, and should be a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Radiology (ACVR) or eligible for the ACVR certification examination.
The locum will be expected to be available for interpretation for all aspects of clinical service in the diagnostic imaging section. The clinical work includes radiography, special procedures, ultrasound, MRI, CT and nuclear medicine of all species including small animals, large animals, and exotics. Some on call responsibilities will be assigned. Teaching duties include case rounds with radiology residents, approval of resident imaging reports, and daily case rounds with fourth year veterinary students. When possible, a resident will also be assigned to the service to assist with the above duties.
The Department of Clinical Studies offers state of the art diagnostic equipment including but not limited to a 1.5 Tesla high field General Electric MRI, CT scanner, digital radiology, PACS system, state of the art ultrasonography, scintigraphy, gait analysis area for kinetics and kinematic work, and more, all of which is supported by faculty and staff committed to delivering the very best of patient care.
