Spokane is located in the heart of the Inland Northwest about 20 miles west of Idaho and 110 miles south of the Canadian border, and is the second most populous city in Washington. The Spokane area is growing and the cost of living is substantially less than many metropolitan areas. The Spokane region sees more distinguishable four seasons than the western part of Washington State. The area averages 16.5 inches of annual precipitation, 48 inches of snow during the winter, and 80-90 degree temperatures during the hottest summer months.

Spokane's motto “Near nature, near perfect” really says it all. Spokane is a prime location for outdoor adventures as well as urban outings. The area offers everything from hiking, fishing, and snow skiing (four resorts within two hours travel) to world-class performances and exhibits, wineries and breweries, and athletics.

Spokane is a major hub for education in the Inland Northwest region. Higher education options include Washington State University and Eastern Washington University, Community Colleges and two private universities, Gonzaga University and Whitworth University.
