Job Description

The Oncology Service (TOS) seeks a Veterinary Radiation Oncologist to join our growing oncology practice in Richmond VA.

TOS has been providing oncology care for companion animals in the Mid-Atlantic area for over 15 years. We currently have 3 practice locations in Virginia offering medical and radiation oncology. Our practice is dedicated to the integration of personalized and compassionate care with cutting edge options for cancer.

Our Richmond radiation center is less than 2-years old and is equipped with a Varian linear accelerator, 120 leaf MLC, and OBI/CBCT capable of IMRT/IGRT/SRT. The radiation center also houses an 8-slice GE CT scanner located immediately adjacent to the linac.

We are the first veterinary radiation facility to utilize Raystation, an advanced and intuitive radiation treatment planning system and Mobius, a robust on-line linac QA package.

This is a unique practice opportunity as part of a multi-disciplinary oncology team focused on providing our patients and clients with innovation and state-of-the-art care.

Unique features of this position include:

  • Opportunity to work collaboratively with our team of 12 veterinarians exclusively dedicated to providing the highest level of medical and radiation oncology care including 2 board-certified radiation oncologists (Pamela White and Ira Gordon).
  • Teaching opportunities with house officers (oncology interns and residents)
  • Research opportunities through clinical trials
  • Flexible employment options including full-time or part-time clinical appointments are considered to allow for outside activities.

Our practice includes direct access to clinical trials through our close relationship with Animal Clinical Investigation.

We are extremely excited to add an additional radiation oncologist to join our outstanding team. Current residents, board-eligible, and board-certified radiation oncologists are all encouraged to consider this opportunity.

Located just two hours from both the beach and the mountains, Richmond is a small city with a big city feel – minus the traffic. Breweries and dining abound, along with a thriving arts district. For athletes and nature lovers, Richmond is home to the James River Park System, a 550 acre retreat which boasts the only downtown Class IV rapids in the country.
