UC Davis is excited to offer an Equine Diagnostic Imaging (EDI) Residency position. The goal is for this program to start the summer of 2020. The residency will fulfill the requirements set forth by the American College of Veterinary Radiology and the candidate will be eligible for ACVR-EDI Diplomate status upon completion. The program will be 4 years long and comprise of clinical time in large animal ultrasound, large animal radiology, CT, MRI and nuclear medicine including PET. Clinical time dedicated to comparative imaging of small animal species will also be included. The training schedule is still under construction and pending approval by ACVR.
UC Davis boasts a well-staffed diagnostic imaging service that includes 6 ACVR boarded faculty radiologist, 2 equine sonographers, 11 technicians, and 2 stenographers. Training will include daily case rounds to review resident generated reports, weekly journal club, weekly known case conference, lectures at UC Medical center on physics and imaging pathology joint rounds.
